Why are People so Rude to Those with Opposing Opinions?

8
I've been called a slag, hag, drag, loser, dork, fag, moron, A blank blank word, F word, B word, C word and S word... I've been called it all... and for what? A goddamn opinion.

How many people here WHO ACTUALLY HAVE WRITTEN on review sites, blog sites or writing sites have gotten into full blown heated wars over your opinion? I have.

How many of you have had arrogant cuss words or discriminating words thrown at you because of a piece?
I have.

Recently I came across something disturbing, and usually I don't come across these types of things, but seeing how Associated Content allows for non user comments, many people will visit my pages and write God awful things for me to view, and for others to view. They feel they have this power of no one figuring out their identity because they are non users. (If taken the time though any hacker could find you-if they cared enough)

Associated Content however gives you options to erase the note, or block the user. I sometimes will leave it up, just to show my fellow members just what types of people there are out there roaming the net. I do however wish this site was set up in ways to where you have to become a member to leave a comment. At least that way I could email the person and give em' a piece of my mind.

I'm sure others would disagree though, and say leave it as is... so be it. As of now, that is how it is, and it looks like that is how it will stay.

The problem is not people having opposite opinions, the problem is the way others talk to one another. One can have a different opinion, but there is no need for lashing out with demeaning names, or cuss words.

I can guarantee that in 2 months if I look back at this piece there will be one non-member who thinks he/she has balls by writing a nasty comment... you only have balls if you write a nasty comment backed up with a click-able page for me to contact you. Then maybe I will give you props... even still though, you're an A blank blank word.

One can have a different opinion and leave a comment that is professional, and one way to start such a comment is 'good though, but I have to disagree...'
