1. Know all of the directions and how much time you have in advanced.
2. Answer the easy questions and the ones you know first; don't waste time on questions you can't answer at first.
3. Answer the ones you know for sure first, then know when to guess or skip.
4. Fill out the answer sheet the right way always and look at it before turning it in.
5. Keep track of time
6. Have enough pencils and erasers handy so that you don't spend time asking for another one.
7. Go to the restroom before you take the test, and if you're allowed go during breaks.
8. Mark the questions you skip
9. Don't get frustrated when a teacher brings up the SAT's to you in school; know that it's worth something to you and that it's going to affect you not them; they're just trying to help.
10. Don't skip an grid-in questions
11. Take a couple of practice tests and score them to know what you need to work on.
12. Study SAT vocabulary and take daily practice questions
13. Get a good night sleep and eat a good breakfast
14. Get there early and take your own calculator
15. Don't waste time trying to figure out how to use the calculator if you don't already know how to use it.
16. Take an SAT prep course if they're available in your school.
17. Talk to people who got a good scores on the SAT's already
18. Don't get bummed out if you don't do great your first time, take it over again and again if necessary don't settle for your first scores.
19. Dress comfortably the day of the test.
20. Read SAT books at your school's library or at the public library.
21. Get a study buddy or a tutor if needed.
22. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, relax and do your best.
23. Don't think about anything else except about what's in front of you during the test, leave all your other thoughts at the door.
