What is Truth?

A secret is nothing but the suppression of a truth. Yet, this truth is more than a little, white lie and far from the exaggeration of the fact. If it comes to the surface, everything will change. There is no denying it because once the truth is out there, everything will change, so it is why the truth is suffocated, silenced to be unknown. It is why we keep our secrets to keep our world perfect, but the truth will find another way to crawl out of the prison that we place it in. We can't keep it suppressed for too long as we spill out lies to hide it, and the secret will be a burden for us to carry as we look into the eyes of those that love and trust us.

A lie is the bliss that we pull ourselves deep into, enjoying every moment of our secrecy. The knowledge that we keep locked away, drowned within us may make us feel secure for some time, but time would soon turn against us to release that knowledge. Putting the world on pause, we are not going to stop the change, and what we fear could happen from knowing what we know could make the change even more stronger and more than what we fear would follow.

So, why are we afraid of the truth? Why must we lie? Why do we keep these secrets? What are we afraid of? The truth or the changes that follow? Is a lie easier to live than to accept the change that we know will eventually come our way? Why must we keep the truth hidden, denying any ounce of it that is revealed?

Change is the promise of a new day, a new page in a book that you may not want written. It is the whispers of history unfolding again into our time. The past has laid ground for the future to pave its road, and to pave its road, we need the change.

Maybe we are afraid that everything will change. The world won't be perfect anymore. We will be seen in a different light, and those close to us will be hurt that we have kept them in the dark this long. So, maybe, the truth should be denied to keep our lives going the way they are, or maybe the truth needs to be known. Yet, can we get past the fear that guards it?

So, what is the truth? A painted image of a perfect life or the flaws that we continue to paint over?
