You get out of bed with excrutiating pains shooting through your left bicep.I dont remember how it happened. I lift a lot at work. I have been working out two -three times per week, trying to stay in shape.
Its time to leave for work as you painfully reach for your coffee. The travel cup of coffee is winning the battle as your left arm falls back to your side. you grab your winter coat and slide the left arm into the coat. The pain increases while you finish pulling the coat over your body. I am needed to much at work to call off. Its probably just a muscle spasm that will work itsself out.
I work through the week without much attention to my limited movement on my left side. I mention to a couple of ladies in the office about my problems. The scolding begins as they start talking about a stroke and going to the hospital immediately. I'll get it checked I tell them. I finally break down and go to the doctor. After thirty minutes of waiting he enters the room. The doctor looks at the shoulder and within a minute makes his assessment. A possible torn rotator cuff injury. Ive heard of it but dont know much about it. The doctor schedules physical therapy and a week off of work for now. I pay my twenty five dollar co-pay for the office visit. I think I am an honest person so I didnt file a workmans comp claim. Im still unsure of how the injury occured.
