Celebrate Oktoberfest in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

A weekend of Oktoberfest fun will take place in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin on September 14-16, 2007. Oktoberfest is a German style celebration which features the harvest, market and entertainment. Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany is famous the world over. Over the years, many smaller local Oktoberfest festivals have sprung up across the United States.

Chippewa Falls is in the north woods of Wisconsin, near Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company is headquartered in Chippewa Falls and has a beautiful facility that offers brewery tours and bars for sampling their many beers.

Join in the fun in Chippewa Falls, enjoy the German music, dancing, food and beers in historic Chippewa Falls.

The official kick-off of Oktoberfest takes place at the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. The Golden Keg Procession opens the event, with The Golden Keg is being carried from Leinenkugel's Brewers and uphill by horse and beer wagon to the Oktoberfest Grounds. The Oktoberfest Grounds on on the Northern Wisconsin State Fair Grounds. Ceremonial keg tapping takes place at all three biergartens.

Leinenkugel's Beer is brewed in Chippewa Falls. Leinenkugel's is a main attraction in Chippewa Falls, with their brewery tours all year long. Leinenkugel has been brewing high-quality handcrafted specialty beers for 140 years. Leinenkugel's Oktoberfest Lager is one of Leinenkugel's specialty beers. The brewery produces Honey Weiss, Berry Weiss, Sunset Wheat, Red and Creamy Dark Lager year around.

The official wine sponsor of Oktoberfest is Autumn Harvest Winery.Autumn Harvest Winery produces wines including Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, White Zinfandel, Black Raspberry, Apple Wine, Raspberry Wine, Blackberry Wine and Elderberry Wine. The winery will be releasing their new hard apple cider.

Festivities start on Friday, September 14th at 11 am. The Golden Keg Procession is at noon. The golden Keg Tapping upon entrance.
