I purchased the Walgreens mint nicotine polacrilex lozenges to quit smoking. They are the generic version of the commit lozenge, with the exact same active ingredient. They come in 2mg or 4mg strength. You can get a 4 mg box of 108 lozenges for 47.79 in my area. Thanks to these nicotine polacrilex lozenges, I can now call myself a non-smoker.

On the box it says, "If you smoke your first cigarette more than 30 minutes after waking up, use 2 mg nicotine lozenge. If you smoke your first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking up, use 4 mg nicotine lozenge."

Each lozenge is individually packaged in sheets of 12. This makes it convenient to take some with you when you need to be out of the house. Each lozenge packaged is stamped with lot number and expiration date so it is easy to verify they are fresh. To use the lozenge you simply place it in your mouth and allow it to dissolve, which takes about 20-30 minutes. It is recommended to move the lozenge from one side of your mouth to the other as it is dissolving. I actually like the mint taste, and it will leave a tingling sensation in your mouth at the spot it is placed.

I would highly recommend using this product! Some say it is pricey, but it is still less expensive than cigarettes. It is also much cheaper than chemo, and your health is priceless.

For the dosage they recommend using at least 9 lozenges per day during the first 6 weeks on this product. Then, the following 6 weeks you will be tapering down. So, I would plan on being on the lozenge for about 12 weeks.

Another benefit to the Walgreens polacrilex lozenges is that each box comes with a stop smoking pamphlet to help you quit smoking. It covers subjects such as planning your success, motivation, understanding smoking and a proven program to follow. If you would like additional help each box has an individual enrollment code where you can go to smokefreehabits.com and create a free and personalized support plan. They also provide stickers to place on your calendar to mark stop smoking achievements. In addition, they tell you what to expect when quitting and ways to cope.

We smoke first thing to wake up? We smoke last thing to relax? which one is it? How can the same cigarette do both? Get the point? Its all a mind screw!!!!!!!! Just put them down and stop. Quiting is not hard at all. The tobacco companies put all the negative hype about quitting out there so you will fail. Theyve brainwashed and killed billions for money. quitting is NOT HARD!!!!!!!!! Youve just been conditioned to think it is! A craving lasts 3-5 minutes, thats it!!!!! after 3 days the physical addiction is GONE! did you hear me GONE! after tha its all whatever mind screw you use on yourself out of habit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The good: The Walgreens nicotine lozenges are effective. I was chewing a can of dip every two days and smoking as well. The lozenge took care of both the nicotine requirement and the oral fixation associated with chewing, thus I had no desire to dip or smoke. The price is very good as well when compared to the name brand lozenge and especially when compared to tobacco product prices. The bad: Personally, the lozenges don't completely dissolve when used as directed (i.e. after 20-30 minutes) so I end up spitting out what is left after this time because of the chalky, bland taste. The mint flavor reminds me of the ultra cheap Freshmint toothpaste which isn't a good thing. Bottom-line: The Walgreens Nicotine lozenges helped me quit chewing and smoking at a very cost effective price point, therefore I highly recommend them.

I HAVE BEEN SMOKING FOR A LONG TIME AND I AM ONE OF THOSE SMOKERS WHO STOPS ONE MINUTE, AND START UP AGAIN. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH COMMITTMENT. I HAVE HAD THE LOZENGES NOW SINCE APRIL, AND FOR A FEW DAYS I WOULD TAKE THEM, OTHER DAYS I WOULD USE THE PATCH. THE END RESULT IS THAT I WOULD PICK UP THE CIGARETTES. YOU WOULD THINK AFTER BOTH OF MY PARENTS DYING FROM SMOKE RELATED CANCER, THAT WOULD BE ENOUGH FOR ME TO STOP. IT IS VERY HARD. TODAY, IS MY FIRST OFFICIAL DAY THAT I HAVE NOT SMOKED A CIGARETTE. I STARTED THE LOZENGES AGAIN, AND I AM DETERMINED TO STOP THIS TIME FOR SURE. I REALIZE THAT MY ON AGAIN OFF AGAIN SMOKING ROUTINE HAD A LOT TO DO WITH UNADDRESSED ISSUES. SMOKING CIGARETTES IS A WAY FOR ME TO ESCAPE, TO RUN AWAY FROM ME. I DID A LOT OF SELF EXAMINATION, AND FOUND THAT THE ROOT OF MY PROBLEM WAS FEAR, WITH IS AS DEADLY AS THE CIGARETTE ITSELF. I ADMIT, I NEED HELP & SUPPORT FROM OTHERS WHO ARE DETERMINED TO QUIT. I AM GRATEFUL FOR THIS SITE. WITH GOD'S HELP,AND THE LOZENG
