Do you believe in the boogie man? The Halloween movie is all about the fact that the boogie man is real and exists. Now if you have seen the original 1978 version with the legendary actress Jamie Lee Curtis who played the sister, Laurie Strode and Donald Pleasence who played the original Dr. Sam Loomis, you will see that the boogie man is Laurie's brother, Michael Myers. Everyone recognizes Michael Myers as the man wearing the $1.98 William Shatner's mask spray painted a bluish white. This eerie humorless look of the mask that the actor, Nick Castle, wore as he played the shadow shape of Michael Myers is as recognizable to horror movie fans as the golden arches are to kids that eat McDonald's Happy Meals.

Through the movie we follow Michael Myers from one killing to another as he searches for the where about of his long lost baby sister. The suspense of each person he stalks leaves you clutching your seat and holding your breath as you see a hand go slack as a knife comes down, yet we see no almost no blood and minimal dead bodies. Very few bodies are visibly stabbed in the 1978 movie as John Carpenter showed the movie in a suspenseful way.

Rob Zombie now gives us his version of this classic due for release at theaters August 21, 2007. Casting Scout Taylor Compton as Laurie Strode, Malcolm McDowel as Dr Loomis and Tyler Mane as Michael Myers we have actors that are recreating the drama of a classic film with a new twist.

Having seen several of Rob Zombie's horror movies I can honestly say that as a director his movies will make you scream for your mama as you hide your eyes from the bloody gore and the torment his prey experience at the hands of the predators. Rob Zombie's twisted mind will indeed bring a new view to the classic tale of the boy who became the boogie man in the movie Halloween.

Also to add to what i just said. i think that Rob failed us all. Any of you who think that this is good, do you have a brain at all? I would like to open a mental door to you all.. and that door would open up the key to all of the halloween movies. MYERS is invincable. He's proved that you can't die. So why when making a movie do you show vulnerability and infact stress that hes more human? Anyhow, i just think that the movie was shit terrible and releasing it was a stunt to make himself money

I think you all who said the new movie is good is a disgrace. The modernized version was terrible for a few reasons. One : The blood of the film really made it realistic, but how realistic is a movie with a guy who gets shot in the head with a 357 and lives? Two: The begginning story line takes away from the pure terror mentality. One reason michael myers was so scary is because we imagined his past ourselves. Carpenter allowed for a ''paint your own picture my canvas'' kind of feel. It's terrible to take away from his original genius by remaking HIS movie and adding a plot that is terrible. Third : Rob Z-Douche went way to far with complicating certain aspects of the movie. As a fan of movies i love that he really tried to create a new atmosphere. But, i can honestly say it just wasn't good at all. I've seen Rob's other two movies and they were just crap. Now that he has ruined a classic movie i find it hard to watch anything with his name anymore. So rob, no more destroying films.

I think Robs version is a much better film than the original. granted the original is a classic and probably scared the living daylights out of everyone in that generation. but thats only because then everyone was more scared of what they didnt know or understand. The true star of halloween is michael myers and rob has helped this generation understand him and thus make him scarier to "this" generation of movie goers.Well done rob!

agreed that the brother sister act was thrown in b/c he had no idea where to go with the story, but they did a pretty good job playing it out for the rest of the series. With out the act, there probably wouldn't have been anymore films after H2. granted i'm sure we all could have done without H3 and its horribly constructed story line. But H20 was a true beauty! and I saw Rob's Halloween and quickly became dissapointed with his idea of making the original story the last 30 minutes of the film and giving a ridiculouse body count to go along with it. This was truly a flop! the only reason why his ratings went up and he made so much money is because of the fan base on the original series and everybody's curiosity in what he will do with the film.

everyone has their own view or observation on things in life.including movies.I have mine of coarse.I personally dont BUY into the brother/sister bit in Halloween.I dont.laurie had no relationship to myers.carpenter made up the brother sister thing in H2 cause he didnt know where to go with the story.myers picked laurie out cause i believe she landed on his doorstep.and she might have resembled his sister he killed. One might argue my case-one has the right.we are americans-that he is her brother because he stalked her.followed her around.myers also stalked annie.he also staked little tommy.following him after school.where one of the bully kids was taunting him.and he ran into myers.is there a conections between tommy, annie and myers? Myers was following them too.maby they are his nephew and second sister.myers picked out laurie, annie, and laurie cause laurie and tommy showd up on his door step.linda got killed along with her boyfriend cause they showed up at the house myers was hanging
