Perfect for wine-lovers, this decoupage and cork memo board is both useful and decorative. Using only wine bottle labels and the corks from your favorite beverages, you can craft this memo board easily. Follow the directions below to create your very own wine bottle cork memo board.

Materials Needed for the Cork Memo Board

1. Wine bottle labels

2. Corks from wine bottles

3. Clear-drying craft glue

4. Wooden picture frame

5. Sharp craft knife

6. Paneling or heavy cardboard to fit the frame

Preparing the Labels and Corks

If you drink a lot of wine, you can use your own wine bottles. You can also ask some friends to save their wine bottles too.

The first step is to soak the wine bottles in water until the labels peel off. Keep them whole if you can. Save the cork from each wine bottle as well.

After the labels detach from the bottles, lay them flat on a rack and let them dry. Make sure you have enough to cover the entire wooden picture frame that you selected.

While the labels are drying, cut each wine bottle cork in half length-wise. The backs should be flat.

Finishing the Memo Board Frame

The wooden picture frame you choose for this craft should be flat or only slightly beveled. A frame with carvings or embossed areas will not work.

Pour out your clear-drying craft glue onto a dish and thin it slightly with water. Use a paintbrush to brush the glue mixture onto the back of each wine bottle label. Carefully press the labels onto the picture frame. Wrap the excess around to the back. Overlap the wine bottle labels slightly for full coverage.

Creating the Cork Memo Board

The next step is to create the wine bottle cork memo board. Lay out your piece of lightweight wood or heavy cardboard. Draw a line just inside where the picture frame will cover it. You must fill in the entire inside of that line with the wine bottle corks.

In order to have a neat cork board, start by drawing lines with a pencil. Use a ruler to measure the width of the corks and draw evenly spaced lines.
