The car wash which is located at 2725 Thousand Oaks Blvd, has had a class action suit filed against them by Strauss Law Group and the Quirk Law Firm. The accusations are that the owners of the Thousand Oaks Car Wash have allegedly hired employees that have no documents and force them to work for free for the first month. Other allegations include employees who are being paid under minimum wage and constant threats of deportation.
More of the suit states that the car wash is allegedly refusing to pay their employees until they are satisfied with the work that is performed. Once the owners are satisfied, employees are then allegedly paid $5.00 an hour to start. Current California minimum wage is $7.50. It is also alleged that Thousand Oaks Car Wash asked employees to report to work by 8:00 a., however they would not be paid until the first car came through for a car wash. And last but not least, the class action law suit states that the employees of the Thousand Oaks Car Wash were allegedly made to work over 10 hours a day, with no lunch breaks or rest breaks.
As with any class action suit, one party litigates for the rest of the parties that are involved. Being that these are illegal immigrants, Strauss Law Group has acquired the services of an immigration attorney from Gabriella Navarro-Busch. The complaint also states that employees of the Thousand Oaks Car Wash have not complained until now since they were allegedly threatened with deportation if they had.
