In recent years schools have begun to change the way they teach. I don't agree with some of the new ways, but the children still have to learn them regardless. I had a friend approach me upset because she could tell her son the answer to his math problem, but couldn't tell him how to arrive at that answer the way the school wanted him to. I have heard similar reports from other parents in the area. So what is a parent to do? I happened to come across an article on Tutor.com. This site has a solution to our children's need for help with their homework. You can read how the site works below.

First, what sets Tutor.com apart from other online tutoring agencies is that you do not need to make an appointment. That means if your child is having difficulty Tuesday night, he or she can get help Tuesday night. This is also a bonus for working parents who may not have the time to sit down and help their child with their homework. All you have to do is visit the site and click Get Started.

Second, you can get a $5 trial to this site which will give you access to 60 minutes of tutoring. This equals 4 tutoring sessions. That means the cost of each session comes down to $1.25. That certainly is worth giving the site a try. If you find that you like the site you can buy tutoring minutes kind of like you would buy for a prepaid cell phone. Pay as you go. You can order 60 minutes for $35, 180 minutes for $99, or 300 minutes for $150. The price is a little cheaper if you decide to choose a monthly plan. Plans start at 60 minutes per month for $32.50 and end with 300 minutes per month for $129. Another great thing about this site is that they have a guarantee. If you are unhappy with any session your minutes will be refunded to your account. If you cancel at any time, you will receive a cash refund for any unused minutes.

Third, tutor are available 7 days per week from 2:00 pm to 1:00 am Eastern time. That means they are pretty much available any time you need them since you'll either be in school in the morning or asleep at night. Tutors will be happy to assist you no matter what your need; studying for a test, homework help, sat prep, or just a little extra help each day after school.

Takeaways
  • Get tutoring the minute you need help.
  • Pick from several pay as you go plans.
  • Get help with Science, English, Writing, or Math.

I applied to a tutoring site like this one and they gave me a test to take along with my application. Rest assured they only hire tutors who can pass their difficult exam (I'm going to retake it)

We homeschool and can get our answer through the system we choose. This is good for those latchkey kids when there is a single parent and just may improve school testing scores across the board when more people use it. I just might blog about this and therefore help even more people. Thank you very much for this information.
