There are many self-proclaimed comedians in the world today. I must admit, however, that I never thought a shuttle driver would join the ranks. When you think about it, a shuttle driver's job is simple; they are to take the passengers to and from a designated destination, doing so safely. This is a very easy way to earn a paycheck. Have you ever had the shuttle driver, though, who decided to add humor to his or her daily responsibilities? I suppose it wouldn't be so annoying if he or she were actually funny, but when they're not, it's quite annoying. Consider my personal experience.

The company that I work for ran into a situation where they needed to free up some space in the parking lot. We have already outgrown the building we are at now, and there is not enough parking there. The company offered to pay 100 volunteers $150/month to start parking at a small community church down the street. I was one of the 100 volunteers who signed up. I knew it was going to suck being without my car like that, and that I would be inconvenienced, but I really needed the money seeing how the base pay with that company is terrible. We started off with this guy who was a pervert and eventually must have gotten canned after so many complaints, but then we got who I will call Mr. Love.

Mr. Love is a short and stubby man with a Jayorican accent (a Jamaican and New York accent). This made him very difficult to understand. He would often attempt to hold conversations with me, but half the time I could not understand a word he was saying because his accent is so unusual. I can usually understand Jamaicans very well, since I am of Island decent myself, but this guy had something different going on. Therefore, I would remain quiet on the shuttle to discourage conversation, but also because I really don't know the man nor care to talk to the shuttle driver. My thought was always, 'just do your job, get me to my car!' or 'Get me to work!'
