So what can you do if you are part of this alarming statistic? Get moving!
But how can you lose weight without access to a gym, you ask? Keep reading...
There are a number of things you can do to get your body moving. The key to losing weight is to burn calories. It's as simple as burning off the calories that you eat. Losing weight isn't a matter of cutting out that double cheeseburger from McDonalds, it's about being able to eat that burger and burn off the 250 calories before they're stuck to your ass.
Burning Calories Without a Gym
Stand instead of Sit
Every time you stand up your body burns calories. As soon as you sit back down your body relaxes and no longer has to do any work. So whenever possible, try to stay standing!
Eat Breakfast
Kick-start your metabolism by remembering to eat your breakfast. It doesn't have to be scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, orange juice, cereal, and a bagel either. You can grab something quick on your way out the door like a muffin, an apple, or a toaster pastry. Just put anything in your gut to get your metabolism to wake up.
Eat Smaller Meals More Frequently
Keep your metabolism up by eating small meals more frequently instead of three big meals a day. By eating about six small meals per day you can keep your metabolism running strong instead of bombarding it with too much food followed by hours of no eating.
Sing or Talk or Type!
Singing, talking, typing, playing instruments - they all burn calories. So put on your favorite CDs, get on the phone, log on to Associated Content, or bust out that air guitar and get your fingers and mouths moving!
Have Sex
Speaking of fingers and mouths moving... another great way to burn calories without a gym is to have sex. Sounds like fun doesn't it? So spice up that love life of yours and get hot and sweaty with a special somebody.
