Profile of Room Enough, a Maccleny, Florida Christian Band

There is an up and coming Christian band in Macclenny, Florida called Room Enough . Macclenny is a small community 35 miles to the west of Jacksonville. How would I know about this new band? Well, the lead singer happens to be the guitar player during worship at my church, in addition to being my daughter's Youth Pastor.

When I first met the lead singer Jeremy Hite, I had no idea that he had a Christian rock band. My 14 year old introduced me to his music and I have to say that he is better than many of the other bands, either secular or Christian. The other members of the band are Caleb Bryan, Riley Stallard, Danny Castillo,
and Michael Murphy.

Jeremy Hite and two friends, Caleb Bryan and Riley Stallard, formed Room Enough in 2004 in response for a request for bands to play that summer at a Bible camp for teens. The band was an instant hit with the teen crowd at the camp. What started out as a temporary thing, then became a serous venture for Jeremy and the other two members of Room Enough.

The band began to practice seriously, with the hope of one day getting a record contract with a Christian label. Over the next few months, the three members began to write music and lyrics, feeling that God had led them to form this band. Their friend, Danny Castillo soon joined the band to help out on guitars. In 2005, they had a chance to record their first EP, Wide Open. Even though the band was having some success, they felt that something was still missing. A friend of theirs, Michael Murphy, had been practicing from time to time with the band. He was hired to join the band and began playing keyboards. This allowed for a depth in their sound and the ability to add other effects and sounds into their music via Michael's keyboard. Soon after Michael joined the band, they took the stage for the first time live as Room Enough. They then began to play at church venues, worship services, and camps around the North Florida area.
