Ok guys I'll start my gear reviews with my recent purchase that I've been wanting for awhile. The Vox AC30 is an amazing amplifier, especially for the price. It comes in 3 options: 1. The combo version - $999 2. The combo version with celestion "blue" speakers - $1,599 3. The Head/Cab Version with 3 cab options a. The V212BN for $299 b. The v412BN for $499 or the V212BNX for $999. Ok so If you want this amp I recommend going with the Head/Cab Version. Although it may cost you a little more, the tone, reverb, and overall control is just better than the combo versions. However, some musicians complain about the cabinet vox provides. The BNX is just overpriced if you ask me, although celestions are know to be really good speakers as you could buy the 212BN and some celestion speakers nd hook it up yourself and it would cost the same.
That's not usually how it should be. I recommend shopping around for a better cab. If you do decide to go with a vox cab, the V412BN is $450 online at GuitarTrader.com. If you dont want to use guitartrader as it is a newer site or you dont trust it, print out the ad and then ask the company you wish to buy it from for a price match. If you tell them they charge no tax and no shipping then theyll include the tax in the price of the cab or whatever your buying too.
Now for the actual amp tone: its amazing. Where this amp really shines is in it's clean tones and it can also get that classic british sound. However, it doesn't go over the top so metal players should stick with another amp. However if you want anything else this is a great amp. 2 channels, normal and top boost which are blendable which I think is really cool because it makes a very unique blend that sounds really good.
