Don't be afraid of color, instead, embrace it. Colors are all around us and color affects our moods. With this in mind decide just what type of mood you wish to set for each room in your home. Gone are the days of plain white walls. Walls now added color and mood to your individual rooms just as your accessories. The color of a room can make major impact on your mood as well as your appetite.

Let us start by taking considering warm colors such as orange, red, and yellows. It is well known that red is coupled with passion, however, orange is a warmer color and is thought to affect ones appetite by making them hungry. Many love yellows and a yellow wall is a great choice for a light and joyful room, however, when using yellow, be sure to tone it down with possibly a white ceiling and door facings so as not to create a feeling of being overcome.

If you wish to create a room with a calming effect, consider a room of blue, gray or green. A blue room is associated with a feeling of calmness, as well as a reminder of a peaceful sea, and is thought to help to curb appetite. Blue is an excellent choice for bedrooms as it is a restful color and is said to prevent nightmares. Wonderful greens are nature's color. The use of green will create a feeling of life and newness in your room. Many love the color of purple; however, one should take care to balance their room with lighter and softer colors when using purple in their rooms. Purple is a color which will create a mood of creativity. However, for a feeling of coziness use burnt orange or golden colors in your room.

If you wish to create a room which appears to be more spacious than it actually is, choose whites and pastels for the area. In addition to whites and pastels you may add a bit of design with wall paper and boarders which have small non-overpowering prints and soft colors. If you have a room which gets little light, make use of warm colors such greens and coral. When using these colors your lights will take on a new glow.

  • Orange is a warmer color and is thought to affect ones appetite by making them hungry.
  • If you wish to create a room with a calming effect, consider a room of blue, gray or green.
