Baby killers often become the latest sensational news

A 6 month old baby, Jordan-Leigh Norton, was stabbed in the back of the neck with such force it severed her trachea and she died. The biological father was in a relationship with Dina Rodrigues who master-minded the plan to have the baby killed in what appeared to be an attempted robbery. Ms. Rodrigues was angry that baby Jordan's mother was attempting to get child support from her boyfriend. She hired two thugs to force their way into the baby's grandfather's home to subdue him while he babysat. The Capetown police became suspicious because little of value had been stolen. Investigation led them to Ms. Rodrigues and her gruesome plan.

Some baby killers target infants as an act of revenge or jealousy towards a parent.

After losing her job at a Social Security office, Natalie Rodriguez, age 23, moved in with a lifelong friend, Giselle Colon. Natalie often drank, became nasty and refused to pay rent. She was asked to leave. For revenge she took Ms. Colon's 9 month old baby, Xavier Antonio Miranda from his crib. She slashed his throat, put him in a trash can by a neighbors driveway, leaving him to bleed to death.

Hipolito Ortiz set his car on fire at the workplace of his ex-ladyfriend killing his 2 children a 2 year old and 6 year old.

Pregnant at 16, Jessica's mother kicked her out of the house and she was put on Child Protective Services. The baby was given up for adoption when she was 18 months old due to continued abuse. Jessica Leanne Hoosier, now 26 abused her 2 month old son. The baby had a fractured skull, arm, ribs and was malnourished when he died. Her two daughters ages 1 and 2 seem unharmed. The mother said she hit her son because she was mad at his father.

Baby killers are often boyfriends of a baby's mother.

Acela Moreno and her boyfriend, Manuel Velez were charged with murder when her son, 1 year old Angel Moreno, was found dead. It is believed that Velez violently shock the boy in anger. The boy's body was covered with cigarette burns and bite marks.

Venice: I have a hard time mustering up any sympathy for a rapist unborn child. I have a lot of sympathy for crack babies and other babies that live lives of abuse, often being physically and sexually molested by foster parents, sometimes to the point of death. I most definitely have sympathy for that poor child in Iraq with his arms blown off due to US bombs and the children that are seeing those horrors. I also have sympathy for females that have to suffer so called Christian's unkind words when they must choose between saving their lives or aborting a fetus. Judgement belongs to God and may he have mercy on Christian's souls for the hell they create on earth.

WOW! This was chilling & so well written! I'm also saddened by all the lives that have never been due to abortion. Thanks for sharing this.

Baby killers, this is something because the majority of these people seem to have some sort of chemical embalance in their brain that makes them commit such heinous acts. Thats something to investigate.

Kudos for a well written article on a sad and disturbing topic. Although it breaks my heart to read of these atrocities, I believe it is important to be informed about these behaviors, in order to learn and possibly prevent them in the future.

I gotta tell ya, Alyce, if it weren't for you commenting on one of my pieces, I would've never found this article. I am CHRISTIAN, but I did not take this article personally, as some others obviously did. Many twisted souls take Scripture out of contrext of place, time, and cultural norms of aincient times to rationalize evil deeds. Herod, for example, was an evil man who committed the mass infanticide in an attempt to murder the Christ-child, because he saw Him as a threat to his own power. Why any rational person would take that as a divine command to kill an innocent baby is incomprehensible. I enjoyed your article, though; it may have been macabre, but real life is not always sunshine and roses. Good job!

This is one of the most thought provoking articles I've read on AC. I don't know what to say right now except thank you, Alyce.

Alcye Rocco- Wow! What more can be said! You've read some of my more personal pieces - and imagine that- the spare the rod spoil the child- honor thy mother and thy father or else die child die- laws found through out Deuteronomy and Proverbs was a large part of all of that as well. I hope you submitted this for payment non-exclusive because this has to be the best article of the millenium so far! Anyone who says that this is a personal affront on religion didn't read the same article that I did appearantly. Bold and inspiring. Thank you.

Alyce, I will share something with you and everyone else. I have a son who will be turning 20 soon. I left him with his father when he was only 10 months old. Some would say, what an awful mother I am, or was. I did, for a long time think that I was the coldest mother ever to live for leaving him like that, but I had to. I suffered from severe post partum depression and while I never laid a hand on my sweet boy, I had thoughts of wanting to. I didn't want to leave but the strength I had to leave was only the still small voice inside me that said I had to, for my son. Some 20 years later, my son and I have been in contact with one another and we are building a healthy relationship together. I think back sometimes, in light of the situation and there are times I regret leaving, then I think of the "babykillers" and I am glad that I am not one of them. I'm glad that I made a "choice" to leave before something drastic happened. Thanks for sharing a eye opening article with us. Perhaps,

Shamontiel: I did not expect to change any people much as I see no chance of changing the mindset of people in Jena LA who think nooses hanging from a tree is a harmless prank. But it was worth the shot to hold a mirror up for people. There is an old saying: the truth hurts only when it should. I forget the exact quote about pain making man think and thought leads to wisdom. It is hard to rationalize with closed minds. I usually simply say "whatever" rather than get in a senseless arguement with people.

DrDevience, it's not often that I give up on a challenge, but I'm going to have to agree with you on this one about some people not being worth arguing with. Alyce, if the folks who are furious at you about this article can't see where you're going with it, I say leave it be. Sometimes the energy one puts into a debate is not even worth the knowledge afterwards.

Alyce... some people are not worth arguing with. They just don't get it at all, and never will. One person once told me in an email that 1 death per hundred difference in Infant Mortality Rates was no big deal... apparently they didn't take math in school, or they just don't think an extra 100,000 deaths per year was worth bothering about. Ignore the idiot.

Tashia: Most of the people in the article were under the influence of prescription medicines for depression. Some were simply too young to have children. I have no answers for evil.
