The stress is mounting and you know your family needs a vacation. You tend to work alot of hours in the summer months, and your family loves to ski, so you decide to plan a winter skiing trip. Why not plan that trip to the gorgeous town of Breckenridge, Colorado. It sounds like a great plan, yet you don't know anything about Breckenridge and you really don't have the time to search the internet. Well, here is a hotel and food guide that will give you not only great lodging ideas but great restaurants to visit while you're here. These are personal favorites of mine. Barn on the River Bed & Breakfast

Located in the historic district of Breckenridge, CO, this B&B offers luxury and convenience with town amenities at your doorstep. It is located 60 yards from the Gondola and around the corner from free shuttles. Barn on the River offers quiet, romantic accommodations boasting 5 guest room in a 1997 timber frame building. All guests enjoy scrumptious homemade breakfast, afternoon treats, anytime hot cocoa and teas, riverside hot tub, social room warmed by a fireplace, mountain views, private bath and balcony/patio. It is a top rated non-smoking Bed and Breakfast Inn. It also offers summer garden seating at the river's edge. Rates vary from $149 - $289 depending on season.
Breckenridge Mountain Lodge

Located at the south end of historic Main Street and just a 5-minute walk from the ski lifts, the 71 rustic and comfortable hotel room let you enjoy downtown Breckenridge on an economy budget. They offer an Old West bed and breakfast experience with warm hospitality. Hotel rooms feature log beds, full bathrooms, alarm clock radio, cable television and a direct line telephone. One-site amenities include stone fireplace in the lobby, hostel-style game room, complimentary continental breakfast, and one outdoor hot tub with fantastic mountain views. Rates are $55 for a room with one Queen bed and $65 for a room with two Queen beds.
