If you have enrolled as a college student, whether you are almost ready to graduate or you are a newcomer, you probably already know that college textbooks are necessary for you to have if you plan to do well in any college course. Some college professors will even have you removed from their classroom if you refuse to purchase the textbook that is required for the course.

As a college student, you also probably already know that many college bookstores are very overpriced, since they need to earn a profit on their textbooks. Many choose to double or even triple the recommended asking price for certain college textbooks. Anyone will tell you that the best way to save money at a college bookstore is to request used textbooks but, unfortunately, it is difficult to get used textbooks since they are pretty high in demand. If hundreds of students have also requested used textbooks, your chances of getting one have immediately gone down.

So, what can you do to save money on college textbooks? Here, we will take a much closer look at some of the best ways to save money on your college textbooks.

1. Use the internet to its advantage. There are many websites that sell college textbooks for a discounted price, whether they are new or used. Using these websites to find the lowest price on a textbook is one of the best ways to save yourself some money. Some of the websites that you may want to consider checking out include eCampus.com, half.com, textbooksnow.com, and biggerbooks.com. If you can buy your college books for a much lower price at any of these websites, why not go for it? You can really end up saving a lot of money in the long run.

2. Use a textbook comparison website, such as campusbooks.com. Though you could go to all of the previously mentioned websites on your own to find out what types of prices are available for the textbook that you are looking for, this would be quite a hassle. Using a comparison website which shows you all of the different prices on one website page is the easiest way to compare all of the prices which are available for you to choose from. You will then be able to make a decision on where to buy your books from there.

I agree with about using a textbook comparison website. The one I like to use is http://www.smartbookfinder.com. They are the best one I have found so far.

These are great suggestions. Book shops really need to help students! The one I used to get my books from gave us money off incentives, so students kept going back. It was a very popular book shop! It was very close to my campus too, so that helped. Sophie
