Okay, girls, like this is what we need, right? On top of night sweats where we wake up thinking someone is blow-drying us to death, headaches that make us think at any moment an alien is going to come struggling out of our ears, we have menopause weight gain. We wonder who in the world deposited the extra pounds on our butts and thighs and how they got away with it without us seeing them.

Things like this can be enough to drive us up the wall! One of the reasons we are noticing ourselves expanding is the stress. Gee, we didn't guess that did we? Of course we have stress. We feel as though at any moment we may pick off someone's head and throw it out the window.

You could say we're a little stressed. But, all jokes aside, the stress we feel may be one of the culprits of our menopause weight gain. This is because of cortisol, which is a hormone that is released by our bodies when we are stressed out.

Another thing is that of course our metabolisms just aren't as good as they once were. Decreased levels of estrogen coming from the ovaries might cause our bodies to work overtime to use fat cells to try and make up the difference.

This means that no matter how bad you curse, your body will still save that fat and hang onto any little bit that comes through. Your body may think that hard times are a' coming, so it's being prepared for them.

Solutions for Menopause Weight Gain:

There are some natural ways to overcome menopause weight gain, and here are some of the best that I've found.

- Chamomile Tea - This tea reduces our stress. Chamomile has a natural calming effect, and helps us relax. Use with a hot tub is recommended.

- Exercise - Darn. We thought we were supposed to be relaxing these days, right? The fact is, this is the time when we have to start exercising more and doing it consistently. This will help us to burn fat that we have gained recently.

- Watching what we eat - I know. The only thing it does when we watch it is move closer toward our mouths. We have to cut out sugars, yeasts, starches, and other things that are associated with menopause weight gain.
