Reasons You Should Visit Door County, Wisconsin on Your Next Vacation

My parents visit Door County for several weeks out of each summer. We usually go up to Door County a couple of times each summer. From Janesville, Wisconsin, Door County is about a four hour drive. The drive is not boring however, it's always quite eventful. It's a very scenic route with water along the way. I never get sick of taking the same route. I actually look forward to the drive and visiting Door County each time. It's a very laid back and nice place to relax. It's a great place for photographers and a lot of areas you will actually see in a lot of pictures.

We have a two year old daughter and usually she is about ready to get out of the truck and play as soon as we arrive in Door County. We usually stay at a resort in Sister Bay. The hotel there makes you feel at home. The rooms are very large and it has a country feel to it. There's also a bakery downstairs so you can get some snacks or lunch. There's also a gift shop, restaurant and game room downstairs. We took our daughter swimming for the first time a couple of months ago when we visited Door County on my father's birthday. We ate at a restaurant that overlooked Lake Michigan and it was a wonderful view. The sunsets in Door County are spectacular and that is the only place I've seen hundreds of people line up to watch the sunset.

There's a few different miniature golf courses right in town around the Sister Bay area. There's also a go-kart track that is quite fun. You can also send your children off to play in the arcade which has a lot of fun games. Next to the arcade is a hitting range for you baseball fanatics. There's something for everybody in Door County. We enjoy walking through the marinas and looking at the large yachts that are parked there. It makes you somewhat depressed but it also gives you hopes of a better future. I'm sure these people have worked very hard for what they have achieved.
