Hurricane Erin Continues through Texas

The continual rain through spring and on into summer was a blessing to farmers and home owners who were on water rations for most of the state of Texas. It all came to an abrupt end a few weeks ago. The heat began to pour down, and the ground cracked as usual as it dried out. You would think gophers and rabbits would have never come out in these conditions.
With nothing to really stop it, the winds of Hurricane Erin continued on through Texas from the Gulf of Mexico. They brought in much needed rain with them as they pushed the clouds along.
As i just finished using my watering privileges this evening, lightning showed up off in the distant horizon. Great! Here I could have save money, as well as other Allen residents who were watering their yards. Therefore, I quickly finished working out in the yard, and went inside.
It was a good thing I did. Within ten minutes rain began to pour down, and the wind picked up. Seems that the high pressure of the clouds met with our low pressure heated area, and sped up the winds to over what seemed to be 45 miles per hour or more. You could hear leaves blowing across the rooftops, and tree branches shaking in the wind.
Lightning abounded everywhere and lit up the sky like fireworks. It was just a matter of time when the sound of police and ambulance sirens were out on the highway and streets of Allen. Collin county was hit rather hard, but no so much that there was any damage to homes or businesses. Drivers needed to keep their skills in check so as to not make matters worse on the roads.
After a few hours, maybe three, the storm finished moving through Allen and the rest of Colling county, Texas. As predicted, the winds continued to push the remains of hurricane Erin on into the middle of the US. Hopefully, no lives will be lost in its path.
