What follows is a stream of conciousness type review of my experience attending the My Chemical Romance concert in Lincoln, Nebraska on March 3, 2007:

When I bought three tickets to see My Chemical Romance, I told my 11 year old daughter and her best friend we were taking a chance because you never know what the weather is going to be like around the first of March in Nebraska. So March 1 hit and in came a blizzard that really packed a punch. Many areas received more than a foot of snow. Winds of 30+ MPH were causing white out conditions and snow drifts several feet deep. Virtually everything shut down. When March 2nd came with less snow, but still raging winds, the roads were still closed and the State Patrol was still warning against any travel, etc... I thought for sure we were going to miss the show. By Saturday afternoon, though, the road reports started getting a little better for Interstate 80, and everyone who had travelled into Omaha told me the interstate seemed to be looking good. I decided we'd take a chance and just turn back if the road got bad.

We headed out about 4 hours before show time, stopped at my husband's job to change cars with him, because there was no way I was going to chance taking a rear wheel drive Mustang all the way to Lincoln, and headed on our way. I'm glad to report the roads were totally clear all the way to the Pershing Center in Lincoln. There were still plenty of cars and semis in the ditches as a testament to how bad the roads were in the previous days, but it was smooth sailing all the way for us. So we rocked out to The Black Parade all the way to the Capital City, stopped at IHOP for some dinner, and then got downtown in time to get a parking spot in the closest garage.

I was in that "crazy floor" area. It looks much worse than it really is. xD It's much, much more fun down there than in seats. I'm speaking from personal experience, and I've been to six concerts, two at the pershing center, so I know my stuff. ;) but, really, MCR has promised to come back. and they're a band to keep their promises. they'll be back.
