Cold Sore Remedies that Actually Work

Cold sores are a very difficult thing to deal with. The people that are forced to suffer with them know exactly what I mean. You feel embarrassed to go out, even to the grocery store.

When talking to people, you notice them glancing at your cold sore, and you feel like it's the only part of your face they see. You might even wonder what they are thinking. A lot of times, cold sores will pop up right when you really don't want them to. For example, when you're going on a date, going for a job interview, or just a night out with your friends.

This can be one of the most frustrating things ever, because the cold sore remedies available usually just don't work. People spend thousands of dollars on prescription medications, over the counter creams, wipes, ointments, and medicines.

More than half of the time, the medications just don't work, and the ones that do won't get rid of that red 'scar' or mark that is usually left behind. Spending all of your money and being embarrassed all the time is so frustrating.

Some people have decided that they have to accept the fact that they will always have an ugly cold sore right on the side of their mouth, or wherever they usually get them. Some people might try to cover them with makeup which ends up making them look worse.

Then I found some great cold sore remedies and began trying natural cold sore remedies rather than the expensive medications I had been purchasing.

Lemon Balm

One of the most recommended cold sore remedies I tried was Lemon balm. It is known to have antiviral properties, and is supposed to relieve cold sores quickly and effectively. When I tried this remedy, my cold sore healed some, but didn't go completely away. However, it healed sooner than they usually do.
