Haunted in Illinois

Do you believe in ghosts? Many residents of Illinois have made reports of seeing, feeling, hearing and being touched by those beyond the grave.

Boone County, Belvidere, Illinois

In the Blood's Point Cemetery, witnesses have claimed to see white orbs flying about and strange mists that form out of nowhere. Electrical gadgets seem to unexplainably malfunction here; flashlights go out and cameras turn off. These malfunctions, however, are only temporary; the devices seem to work fine after leaving the graveyard! Another anomaly of this particular cemetery are the sounds that have been reported; cries that come from no living throat, whistles and whispers from unseen lips, and a strange growling sound from behind the shed that cannot be explained.

Cook County, Chicago, Illinois

At the Congress Hotel, guests and employees have claimed that televisions go on and off in the middle of the night and items are moved around. Inexplicable cold spots have also been reported all over the hotel but they seem to change position frequently. Many here have witnessed doors opening or closing but no living person came in or went out through them. Also, some of those who are more sensitive have complained of walking down the hallways alone but feeling as though someone was there with them.

Cook County, Cicero, Illinois

In the Warren Park administration building, many have heard the mysterious sounds of moaning on the top floor. Witnesses have also claimed to hear ghostly footsteps on this floor, as well as, seeing doors open and close on their own. Some have even reported seeing misty figures here. There have also been rumors of windows shattering in the building for reasons that were unknown.

Kane County, Elgin, Illinois

In the Beef Villa, employees have reported seeing orbs of light, walking through unexplainable cold spots and having seen the lights turn on and off for no apparent reason. Some patrons to this establishment have claimed to "feel" someone standing behind them when no one was there and a few have even said that some unseen person whispered in their ear!
