A long time ago in heaven, in the Chamber of Guf where the souls of children wait to be born, a little boy was crying. Heaven's Gatekeeper saw the boy crying, wiped his tears and asked, "What's wrong?"
"I'm scared," the little boy said. "How will I survive down there? What will I do without an angel to watch over
me?"
The Gatekeeper smiled. "You'll be alright. You'll have a mother and a father to take care of you."
"But they're not angels," the boy replied. "What if they're bad people? Can't you talk to God? Couldn't he send an angel down to watch over me?"
"I'll see what I can do," the Gatekeeper said with a smile.
"Okay." the boy replied a little sadly and then followed the other children's souls down to earth.
Years later, the boy was saying his bedtime prayers when he heard the voice of God calling from Heaven.
"We've found you an angel to watch over you. Do you still need her?"
The little boy looked at the picture of his mother on his nightstand, smiled broadly and said to God, "No thanks, I've already got one."
