But the boom of the personal computer may not be the best model for the individual aircraft. But designers have tried to comply. The navigation instruments common on a plane are replaced with computer screens. The throttle now is a joystick, and the interior leather seats might belong to a luxury car.

The Eclipse might be a hybrid of the noun and adjective phrases describing the best automobile features and aviation desires elevated technological consumers want. Irrespective of the purpose these features might have been thrown out of some random technology generator.

I will give a small rundown from a Machinist's point of view of Eclipse Aviation on the Jet Engine they were originally going to use . This company I work for spent millions upon millions to tool up for the engine that was agreed to be used for Eclipse , I even have an eclipse t-shirt , no matter . To make a long story short , after adding an additional 60,000 sq. ft. to the building and purchasing $25 million in machine tools , Eclipse pulls out and goes with Pratt & Whitney . There are many other issues , that I am sure would justify the change , however I feel it was very underhanded in a business stand point of view or ethically a slap in the face . Like the saying goes 'What goes around , comes around ' and Eclipse will ,or maybe this is why they are having more start up problems. Good luck eclipse , and buy American ( Pratt & Whitney engine is made in Canada), I guess that will not matter either , with the uniting of USA , Canada and Mexico.
