Breaking Up is Hard to Do
And So is Being Broking Up With

For anyone who has gone through a break up you pretty much know how hard it can be. If you have been in the relationship a good while, it is especially hard. But, there are ways to get over it. In some situations his/her feelings might have changed, he/her loves their boyfriend/girlfriend more as a friend now then a boyfriend/girlfriend. This can be hard to accept, but there is a saying, "Just because he doesn't love you like you want him to doesn't mean he doesn't love you with all he has." It is always better to stay friends with someone after a break up then have hurtful feelings towards one another and never speak again (unless there is reason for the hurt feelings, like one cheated on the other). Hopefully, these tips will help both the dumper and the dumpee in dealing with the situation.
If you're the dumper:
· Think about it. Don't just blurt out, "Hey I don't want to be with you anymore!" Make sure this is what you really want and not just something that popped into your head because you are mad at your significant other.
· Remember that your boyfriend or girlfriend has feelings to. When you decide to break up with the person, make sure it is in a private area and not in front of group of people.
· Be ready for all imaginable reactions. This mostly likely includes crying, getting extremely mad or both.
· Don't just leave it at that. Talk your now ex-boyfriend/girlfriend. Tell them why you are breaking up with and don't make up a lie.
· Try to stay friends. If you have been together a long time there is probably a good strong friendship there that doesn't need to be ruined.
· If you do decide to stay friends remember that it will be weird for a while. You two won't be doing all the same things you did before.
If you're the dumped:
· Listen to your boyfriend/girlfriend. Don't just hear the first part. Let them explain why they are dumping you. More then likely it is a sensible reason
· Don't hold back your feelings. If there are questions, ask them. If you need to cry, go ahead and cry. The other person should understand.
