Palm is no longer the market leader in the PDA category. No wonder a look into this device, the Palm Tungsten E2 Handheld PDA would tell you why. The entire composition is pathetic. They would not release a new OS and they would not care about the new technologies in the market. It seems they have just blindfolded themselves from reality.

Let us see the promises made by the palm website. It promises you almost everything, it promises you about a feature called Versamail. It is the most disgusting thing in this whole package. You can never use it to sync it with outlook, for a simple reason, you can never really synchronize an IMAP account with SSL security or you can synchronize IMAP account with the Outlook email client. In short synchronization is practically impossible. I wonder why the palm people are not enlightening the people in their product manual. In short, they are hiding the truth which is not a good business practice either.

Versamail is indeed junk mail. The website boasts about blue tooth connectivity, I will tell you one honest fact; most of the best selling phones are not compatible with this palm phone. Better check their website about the compatible phones before buying this product. It is up to you to decide whether to Change the phone or the PDA. I will go out and change the PDA.

The company does not care about the hardware at all; it still comes with a 200 MHz processor and a tiny RAM. They have hardly cared for the consumer. It comes with a bulky charger which makes your life still worse and a poor battery life has always been palm's woes from times immemorial. Palm is still in the past and they are of the view, that the consumer would be satisfied with the basic features. Those basic features need not be discussed as they are mandatory if you buy a PDA. You do not need a magnifying glass to look into the finger prints on the screen, the display is indeed a good improvement, but a lot of fingerprints may make it cloudy.

Hi I own a Tungsten E2. I only use it for three things Listening to music Listening to audiobooks Reading ebooks I never did understand about the bluetooth. For what I use it for, I like it. But if I was looking into doing more, I would think about other technology. Great article
