INport Deluxe makes the music from your old records and cassettes portable. With INport Deluxe, you aren't limited to listening to your records only at home where your turntable is located. INPort Deluxe lets transform your old music into a digital format so that you can burn it to a CD or listen to it as an MP3. And the best thing about it is you don't need to be a technical genius or guru to set it up.I bought INport Deluxe from Best Buy for $79.99. It's not just software but hardware too. On the side of the box it reads "Stereo to PC Recording Kit" and then it lists the box's contents which include a USB cable, an audio cable, the hardware component and the required software to transfer your music smoothly. The only thing to keep in mind is on the bottom of the box there is a little disclaimer that says you can't record directly from a turntable. You need to record through a receiver or else you'll need to get a pre-amplifier. My turntable isn't part of my stereo system and I didn't want to get a separate pre-amplifier so I connected my turn table to my stereo system and then connected my stereo to my computer and it worked fine.
There is a warning on page 8 of the manual that reads "Warning: do not plug INport into the speaker outputs on your stereo system-these will damage your INport." Instead, you plug your cable into the red and white colored slots that are the audio outputs or, lacking a Line Out, you can plug it into the headphone jack.
The INport Deluxe manual is easy to read and understand and breaks the set up process into three steps which makes it easy to follow. Step Three contains the recording information that show you how to change the audio settings, how to remove pops and clicks, and how to split tracks. What you have to keep in mind, though, is that when you record an LP to a digital format, you can't use a high speed recording option. You have to record LPs and records in real time so if your record album is 60 minutes long, it will take 60 minutes to record the album.
