Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton headline 20th Century FOX's prime time comedy Back to You. Grammer stars as Chuck Darling co-anchor with Kelly Carr, played by Patricia Heaton. The anchors are paired to revive a 90's Pittsburgh newscast. Sparks behind the scenes make the show pop. Both anchors are ambitious and cocky, creating an electric presence during their newscasts.

A youthful news director, Ryan Church played by Josh Gad, runs around stressed, rushed, and bewildered. Grammer and Heaton are joined by Fred Willard, as sports anchor Marsh McGinley who believes everyone is waiting breathlessly for the sportscast. Ty Burrell stars as field reporter Gary Crezyzewski.

Kelsey Grammer is cast in a perfect role as Chuck Darling, a self-centered, pompous newscaster. In his off time, he has a reputation as a womanizer. His target on Back to You is Kelly, Patricia Heaton. They had a fling in the past, and Chuck reaches to rekindle the spark.

Meanwhile, Kelly remains up-tight and whips out vitriolic attacks to rebuff Chuck's interest. Kelly is uptight, and has to keep the best interests of her ten year-old daughter in mind.

If Grammer and Heaton deliver the same wit and timing to Back to You that they brought to Frasier, Cheers, and Everybody Loves Raymond, respectively, this could be one of the best new sitcoms this season. Writer and executive producer Steven Levitan has amused viewers with great comedy's like Frasier, Just Shoot Me!, and Wings. Levitan is joined by Christopher Lloyd who also worked on Frasier and the syndicated favorite Golden Girls.

In a webcast on FOX.com Grammer and Heaton speak of the show as easy to film, and promise viewers the show is funny. I hope they are right. I can't remember the last sitcom that rivaled the humor of the 90's. I am weary of reality shows that make every day people the butt of their jokes, insults, and pranks.

Back to You premiers Wednesday, September 19, 2007, 8/7c on FOX.

Thanks for the preview of that. As a fan of the old "Frasier" series, I can't watch Kelsey Grammer acting and not think he's Frasier all over again (suddenly flip-flopping from a psychiatrist to an anchor in need of one). ;) Playing someone who's pompous only makes him all the more similar to Frasier. Nevertheless, it's good to see KG back on TV. He's too good of a comedic actor not to be on TV rather than make horrid movies as he's unfortunately already done. The premise of "Back to You", though, has been done before...so it's not going to be groundbreaking by any means. Having Christopher Lloyd at the writing helm will help. He's responsible for some of the funniest lines in "Frasier's" history...
