Poll: Presidential Race in Wisconsin Too Close to Call

Rasmussen Reports has taken a survey on the Presidential Race in Wisconsin and so far it looks like one of the closest in the nation. When they matched up the two leaders, Senator Hillary Clinton and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, the results are a virtual tie with Clinton leading by a margin of 45% to 44%.
Gender wise, Clinton leads by 6% among the women voters and Giuliani has a 5% lead among the men. Independent voters also favor Giuliani by 7%.
Clinton does better over the other Republican Candidates. If Fred Thompson were to be the republican nominee, she would defeat him 45% to 41%, John McCain by a margin of 44% to 39%and when it comes to Mitt Romney. She would win by a margin of 46% to 38%.
Taking a look at the candidates favorability ratings in Wisconsin, Clinton is viewed as favorable by 50% and unfavorable by 49%. Breaking it down further, 25% give her a very favorable rating and 29% a very unfavorable rating.
When it comes to Giuliani, he gets a favorability rating of 55% and an unfavorable rating from 40% of the Wisconsin voters with 21% giving him a 21% very favorable opinion and 19% a very unfavorable one.
The other Republican Candidates come in like this. McCain with 48% favorable and 45% unfavorable, Thompson with 45% favorable and 42% unfavorable and Romney with a 41% favorable and 49% unfavorable rating.
They also take a look at how the voters ratings of the leaders of the two parties, President Bush for the Republicans and Governor Jim Doyle for the Democrats correspond with the ratings the candidates get.
When taking a look at President Bush, Wisconsin voters give him a 36% rating of good or excellent and 49% saying he is doing a poor job. The President does not seem to be having an impact on the Republican Candidates, with even the weakest of them having a better rating than he does.
