The bride to be has plenty of showers in her honor. There's the general shower but can also be a lingerie, Christmas ornament, or even a fill our wine rack shower. What does the groom to be get? Well an emerging shower, if you will, for him is called the "Honey Do" wedding shower party.  Guests are encouraged to bring items that'll help him do the projects on his "honey do" list like fixing a loose shelf or hanging pictures.

I know when I'm invited to a wedding where I know the groom better than the bride, I tend to get him something that is just for him. When a guy gets married, life defintely changes and needs of the household grow. That sqeaky door that was never a problem before will soon be in need of repair. It's for these little projects around the house that a guy may not be fully prepared for so the "honey do" party was born. While I have only personally heard of "honey do" parties on a few occassions, there are a wonderful idea to give the groom his own party with his own gifts.

What makes a good "honey do" gift? Tools, ofcourse! To complete most of the items on a to do list you will need some sort of tools. Cordless tools make a wonderful gift for the groom to be. That way those projects that are too noisy to be done in the house can easily be moved to the backyard. Gifts like hammers, drills, screwdrivers, and wrenches all make great honey do wedding shower gifts. If the couple is moving into a new place, then a leveler would be great to help hang pictures and shelves. A stud finder will be useful under any circumstance that involves nailing something to the wall.

Takeaways
  • The needs of a household grow when a guy gets married
  • Honey do list are not always about fixing things
  • Power tools always make a great gift
Did You Know?
June used to be a very popular month to get married in many years ago. Apparently this was so because people would take their yearly baths in May.
