ACER TravelMate 4200 Review

After my computer took a dive, well the power source took a dive; I needed a computer and fast. In this day and age when all communication is conducted either through a mobile phone or a laptop, I found it extremely hard to do without. Not to mention that correspondence courses online don't go well when you can't go online. As such, I began my frantic search for a computer solution. While having the computer fixed might have been an option if I were in the U.S, I was stuck out of the country and not due home for months. I began my computer search at local computer shops and ended on a website viewing Acer computers, a company that has recently made its way up in the world of computers and landed several models on the top ten list of best computer buys according to my research on several prestigious technology websites. While I had formerly been a Dell user and inclined to purchase another after a long and satisfied stint with my now busted power source, I opted to purchase an Acer and see exactly why they were being praised so much by users and tech magazines so much.
I've had my Acer TravelMate 4200 now for several months, and only time will tell whether the quality of the computer will last long-term. However, at this point I can say that this generally picky computer user is satisfied. This isn't to say that I haven't also encountered cons along with the pros, but merely that overall the computer has turned out to be reliable, easy to use, and able to meet my needs as a user.
The first thing that was truly useful with the Acer TravelMate 4200 was the fact that I was able to do a little customization with it. This mainly meant upgrading the memory and RAM, but for a user like myself, I needed something "spacious" in the memory department, and nice and fast in the RAM. I was able to get these things while still sticking to a very strict budget. While my computer initial came with a very basic 80GB, I was able to upgrade significantly with a very small monetary addition, a huge plus!
