Globalization has been widespread since the time of imperialization and the Industrial Revolution. Recently, many jobs have been outsourced to countries over the world for the cheap labor that they are able to provide. Many companies have promised that outsourcing provides goods cheaper and allows for company growth. There are many ways in which globalization has had a positive effect on the United States.

Globalization has allowed companies to offer their goods at a much cheaper price than they otherwise would be able to. Without globalization, prices on goods could rise dramatically. Would anyone really be able to afford goods such as a laptop if the parts were made in America? Globalization is necessary to keep prices where they are; without it inflation would happen very quickly.

Globalization also provides jobs to countries that need them the most. These developing countries need money to keep their families alive. Even if having to do demanding labor is the solution, it keeps them from starving to death. Globalization also eliminates many jobs that many people in developed countries do not want. With positions open such as secretaries and police officers, who wants to work for hours in a sweatshop for a fraction of the pay?

Many blame globalization on the unemployment rate in America. However many jobs are abundant in America, but people refuse to take them. When my sister was looking for a job between college terms, she went to a employment agency to help her find a job. By the next day, she was receiving emails and letters filled with positions, easily over two hundred within a week. Why are the unemployed unable to find these jobs? The only conclusion is that they are simply unwilling to work and rather live on programs such as welfare.

Globalization has had many positive effects worldwide for countries that have developed and countries that are developing. Some of the effects of it are only natural as they occurred as the major countries were developing as well. However, if it provides a better future for these countries is it right to say its wrong?
