Ice Cream Cottage Located in Mastic, Long Island, NY

Who doesn't love ice cream? That quick cool you off summer time treat! I know I love ice cream.

The Ice Cream Cottage has to be by far my favorite ice cream shop on all of Long Island. I have been to home made ice cream shops in the Hampton's, to chain shops such as Carvel. None though even come close to the selection and prices that the Ice Cream Cottage has to offer in Mastic on Long Island.

The ice cream shop is located right off of Montauk Highway giving it an awesome hard to miss location. The building itself looks just like a little log cottage, giving it that old style charm that I love. It's not the building I truly love though, it's what's inside the building.

The Ice Cream Cottage is not the largest ice cream shop in the world, as a matter of fact it's quite small, but trust me, they manage to fit in every dang ice cream flavor you could imagine. From special flavors such as Mastic Mash, to plain old vanilla, they have it all.

In the shop you will be greeted by one of the helpful friendly employees asking you what you would like. You don't have to decide right away, there is tons to look through. They have hard ice cream which you are able to view through the looking glass, and they have soft flavors. The soft flavors always come in chocolate, vanilla, or a mix of both. They will also have a special flavor in the soft serve such as banana, pistachio, or cherry. It varies from time to time.

You have many options for toppings, such as fudge, caramel, strawberries, cherries, peanut butter and marshmallow. Besides that you can also top your ice cream with peanut butter chips, butterfinger, crunchies, oreos, gummy bears, m&m's, regular sprinkles, and more. The possibilities are endless.

You can buy your ice cream in large cones, cone bowls, cups, dixies, containers, pints, barges, pretzel cones, cookie cones, and much more.

After choosing your flavor they will ask you if you want it topped with whipped cream. Yes of course!!!
