Superbad is a hilarious "coming of age" tale of three friends whose quest for alcohol to be the party heroes takes them on an adventure that kept me laughing out loud for nearly all two hours of it. Everything about this movie was fun and entertaining and considering all the "parents" involved in this one its no surprise to me that they had such a beautiful baby.

You've got Judd Apatow as the executive producer (he directed Knocked Up and 40yr old Virgin), Seth Rogen (also of Knocked Up) co-wrote and stars (he wrote this in high school with a friend), Jonah Hill (Knocked Up, Accepted, and 40yr old Virgin), and one of my favorites, Michael Cera (Arrested Development).

Make no mistake, Superbad is about as crude as you can get with Jonah Hill where the F-bombs flow like wine, a montage of cartoon penises, and enough sex talk to make Hugh Hefner blush. While this may not appeal to an older generation I think Superbad will hit a perfect chord with the entire youthful demographic. You've got all your staples of many a teenager's life.

There's the pursuit of booze, skirt chasing, and ultimately the need of friendship. While you'll find the first two elements in many of the teenager movies out there I think the third aspect is what really sets Superbad apart. Michael Cera and Jonah Hill are so convincing as childhood friends you'd think they really have known each other all of their lives.

While I enjoyed this pair immensely I think it was Christopher Mintz-Plasse, the third friend in their circle, who really steals the scenes. Superbad is Mintz-Plasse's very first venture into acting, but that never shows. His role as "McLovin" is hilarious and spins nicely off into its entirely own side story with Rogen and Hader as mischievous cops who take him under their wing for an adventure of their own.

I had been excited about Superbad for months and I was in no way disappointed. This was great entertainment and if you've been a fan of the cast in the past this is a sure fire hit for you. I highly recommend taking a couple of hours this weekend and going to see this right away.

Great review! I haven't gone to see many movies this year, but I make a serious effort to go see movies with Arrested Development cast members in them! I thought Superbad was hilarious, and I especially loved Michael Cera and thought that Seth Rogen and Bill Hader were hilarious as the cops! I'll definitely be buying Superbad the day it comes out on DVD!
