Ok you have made the decision to go to Walt Disney World. At first you think the hard part is over and then you quickly become overwhelmed with all the information out there about "The World". A quick trip to a local book store will tell you that planning this vacation is going to be as difficult as making the decision to go. Well you are in luck because it does not have to be that way. This article will take you through the top decisions that you need to make to plan your trip and future selections will outline some tips and tricks to make the most out of your vacation.1. When to go?
This decision may be pre determined due to school holidays and vacation time, however there are some things to consider.
*The world is busiest during school holidays
*The time of year that you travel can significantly impact the price of accomodations
*While some times of year are very nice in Florida, others are unbearably hot
*Disney has been known to offer free perks such as free dining during off peak seasons.
2. How to get there?
The 2 most popular options are to drive and or fly.
Driving can be an affordable option and provides you with a car once you arrive at the world. Driving becomes less agreeable if you would need to take more to than 2 days to arrive at your destination or you are travelling with young children. When you are developing your travel budget remember to factor in gas, accommodations and food during your travel time.
Flying can also be affordable if you are willing to put a little time and effort into the planning. I have found that airline prices can change dramatically. I have found some amazing deals by regularly checking websites such as expedia and Travelocity which compare different airlines on the same web page. If you find a good deal be prepared to book it because it may not be there long.
*Hint, It is usually cheaper to fly in/out on a day in the middle of the week
3. Where to Stay? There is an ongoing debate as to whether it is better to stay at one of the "onsite" Disney owned properties or stay "off site" at another hotel chain. Here is some information to help you decide.
