How to Use Mirc to Download Movies and Mp3s

If you are looking for a way to download music online without dealing with fakes give Mirc a try. Many of the file sharing programs available are filled with fake versions of the songs, or contain viruses. Who wants to spend the time to download a song only to have it be junk? I for one do not. Mirc is made up of many servers and rooms. There are rooms for many different types of media files. Mirc can be used to download music, movies, applications, porn, and more. There still have to be precautions taken. As with any file sharing program there are some who continue to send out viruses.

The first step you will need when using Mirc to download music or movies is to download the program. Just do a simple search for Mirc and you will find the program. Next you will need to install Mirc. This is easy to do and the installation program walks you through step by step. Mirc is a shareware program. It allows you to use it for thirty days. After the evaluation period is up you can pay a one time fee of $20.00. Once you have finished installing Mirc you will need to make a few changes to the standard settings. This will allow you to download music very simply.

Setting up Mirc
1. When Mirc starts for the first time the settings box will pop up. The first screen will ask you for your name and email address. You will also have to create a screen name. This is the name that will be shown in the rooms on Mirc. See first picture.

2. Now click on the word Server in the Category row. This will bring up a window with lots of different servers listed. Scroll down until you find Undernet and click on it. Now click on Random US server and click on Select.

3.The next setting that will need changed is the Options under the Connect category. Make sure there are checks next to the boxes that say Connect on startup and Reconnect on disconnection.

4. The next setting that needs to be changed is under the Sound category. Click on the Requests and uncheck the box next to Send nick file as a private message.

5. Next click on the DCC category. Click Auto get file and check the minimize box. Also under the drop down box that says if file exists ask, change it to Resume. See second picture.
