We live in Alaska, and our winters can be long, cold, and dry, and both my husband and I deal with dry skin. His is worse, as he gets dry patches all over his body. I believe it is in part to his eczema - because this runs in his family and our daughter has eczema as well.

When his skin gets really dry it starts to itch, and this will just about drive him crazy at night when he is trying to sleep. He has gotten into the habit of plastering lotion on his body before he goes to bed - he does this once, sometimes twice a week.

He sees a dermatologist regularly, because he has had a couple of the less dangerous skin cancers on his nose and ear, so he has to go once a year for a check up. A year ago his Dr. sent him home with some samples of soap and hand lotion. Lubriderm was his Dermatologists's choice.

Since hubby uses so much of this, we buy it in the large 16 ounce bottles with the pump dispenser.

Product Claims
* Created for Dermatologists
* Softens, soothes, moisturizes and protects
* Absorbs quickly
* Restores lost moisture
* Softens skin

Directions
Apply to dry skin areas. Particularly effective when applied after bathing and at bedtime to restore and maintain the skin's natural suppleness.

Ingredients
Water, mineral oil, petrolatum, sorbitol, lanolin, lanolin alcohol, stearic acid, triethanolamine, cetyl alcohol, fragrance, butylparaben, methylpapaben, propylparaben, sodium chloride.

Thoughts
This lotion is a medium consistency, and spreads on easily and smoothly. It is just a tad bit greasy, but does absorb into the skin rather quickly.

The pump on the top of this bottle makes using it over a large part of the body much easier. The bottle is heavy enough that it doesn't tip over (when standing alone) when you push the pump down.

I personally do not like the scent of this lotion. I used to use it occasionally, but have found other creams and lotions that I like much better. The scent doesn't linger a long time after it is applied, but it reminds me of some baby wipes I used to use ... and it is not very pleasing to my sniffer!

Funny, it doesn't work well at all for me. I think that is true of a lot of lotions though. They work for certain types of skin and not for others.
