Osteitis Deformans: Asymptomatic Bone Disease

Bone disorders of any cause, origin or nature, often lead to lifelong health complications in the adult who suffers from the disease. For many individuals, the complications of bone disorder are attributed to a condition known as osteitis deformans.

Osteitis deformans, is a nonmalignant bone disorder that is also commonly referred to as Paget's disease. Described, medically, as a condition in which bone resportion occurs at a faster rate than normal, individuals with osteitis deformans experience a variety of complications expanding beyond the compromise of bone integrity and bone pain.

Prescription bisphosphonates are most commonly used as they work to slow the resportion of bone, restoring, to some degree, a normalcy.

In addition to slowing the resportion process, your osteitis deformans most likely causes you great pain. For this reason, using medications that offer pain relief are also important.
