Many people even go as far as to believe that people who have red hair were conceived when a woman was menstruating. A very common misconception is that women who are redheads cannot be pretty. Many picture a frizzy-headed freckled-faced kid when they think of red hair. In reality, many redheaded celebrities have gained a lot of exposure due to both their beauty and talent. Lucille Ball (1911-1989)

We all love Lucy - and her red hair! Lucille Ball is remembered for the spunky personality as Lucy McGillicuddy Ricardo in I Love Lucy, that she starred in with her husband Desi Arnaz. Her accomplishments go as far as being the first woman to ever own her own filming studio. Many believe that Lucille Ball would have never became famous if she didn't have red hair.

Rita Hayworth (1918-1987)

Although she was known to be both quiet and shy, Rita Hayworth was well known for her sexuality. The hit that lead to her fame was Gilda, though she starred in some other very popular movies as well. Many still consider Rita Hayworth the sexiest redheaded celebrity in history, though that is quite a controversial subject in general.

You've probably seen Maureen O'Hara in the original version of the Parent Trap, where she starred as the twins' mother, if nothing else. She also starred in the Miracle on 34th Street.
