Massachusetts Audubon Society. This well known non-profit organization has served residents of Massachusetts by protecting and preserving some 32,000 acres of sanctuary land. The 44 Massachusetts Audubon sanctuaries have provided a safe haven for birds and wildlife but also a place where human beings can go and share a peaceful, quiet day in nature. More than 100,000 residents of Massachusetts are society members and thousands more take advantage of the seasonal nature programs and open lands the society provides. The 2007 schedule of fall fairs and fun with the Massachusetts Audubon Society includes these offerings.

Stony Brook, Norfolk, MA . In the small residential town of Norfolk, sits the small Audubon Sanctuary called Stony Brook. Despite its size Stony Brook is one of the most highly visited and program laden of the 44 Audubon Sanctuaries. Stony Brook will be holding its 29th annual Fall Fair on Saturday, September 29 from 10 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Children under 3 are admitted no charge.

The fair offers live music throughout the day, opportunities to take guided nature walks, children's games, crafts, a field maze and this year the first annual "Super Slimy Slug Eating Contest". Truly there is something for everyone. You can plan to stay for lunch at the famous Stony Brook Luncheon. But before you eat try the "Moon Bounce " .

If crafts are what you are into, then come to the Fall Craft Fair to be held at Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday, October 13 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Formerly part of the Fall Fair, this year the Craft Fair has become an event unto itself and promises to provide great opportunities to purchase and browse among craft products against the background of fabulous fall color at Stony Brook. These events at the wildlife sanctuary at Stony Brook in Norfolk are great examples of the fall fairs and fun with the Massachusetts Audubon that is out there waiting for New England families to enjoy.
