Organic Skin Care Made Simple

My recent quest to live a simpler, greener life, has resulted in my slowly phasing out many ordinary personal and household care products and replacing them with organic and sustainable ones. As in younger days, I'm revisiting natural food stores and re-examining many of my daily habits-- everything from eating to recycling. On a recent trip to my local Fruitful Yield Store, I received a complimentary sample pack of Jason Natural Products Ester-C skincare regimen, which included Super-C Facial Cleanser, Super-C Toner, and Lotion. Having had oily, acne prone skin for most of my life, I have always relied on popular, chemical laden (mostly those containing salicylic acid) products for daily skincare. While I knew that ultimately, these harsh chemicals couldn't be good for neither my skin nor the environment, I continued using them because chemicals and acids tend to deter breakouts (go figure!). Would a natural based product actually be effective against oils and breakouts? Would it effectively cleanse my skin? There was only one way to find out: I actually used the samples.

The Super-C Facial Cleanser worked exactly like my popular salicylic acid based cleanser, only without any burning skin irritation. It foamed up nicely, cleaned well, and rinsed easily. I was pleased to find that both the accompanying Super-C Toner and Lotion were equally impressive; the toner really felt refreshing and the lotion moisturized without feeling oily or greasy. All three products are only slightly, naturally scented and considering I personally detest any products heavy laden with perfumes, this was an added bonus. The cleanser contains a combination of Vitamins C, E, and Orange Fruit Extract, while the toner contains Vitamin C and Witch Hazel. The lotion also contains Vitamin C, of course, and an antioxidant called Alpha Lipoic Acid, "a naturally occurring," (I didn't know what it was either, so I Googled it) that helps to reverse damaging effects on skin, inflicted by age and exposure to the elements.
