Bioshock is the winner for Best in Show at E3 two years in a row. That certainly helped to bring up a lot of anticipation for this game's release. Many of these hyped games often come out bad, and other times just dreadful (like Red Steel blahh), but does Bioshock suffer the same fate?

I'm very happy to say no. Bioshock is an excellent game that delivers all the necessary ingredients of a great game. Lets break it down:

1. Graphics - the graphics in this game are absolutely amazing. The underwater Utopia looks beautiful, especially the water, which the designers worked hours to perfect. Being that water is such a huge part of this game, it really add to the entire atmosphere. There are lots of fine details in this game that create a gamers fantasy world, and give it a gloomy feel at the same time.

2. Sound - the music in this game really adds to the effect and causes suspense and creepyness that will keep you on your nerves. The sound effects are perfect. Where the sound is truely amazing though is in the voice acting, which really pushes and makes the storyline very interesting.

3. Gameplay - Bioshock revolves around the theme "play how you want to" which basically means you can get different powers by your choice, each of which is unique and fun to use. Killing the "little sisters", freaky little girls you WILL want to kill before they make you pee your pants, is challenging as they are gaurded by "big daddies", boss characters who mean buisness.

The pacing of the game is done well though as you dont have freak people jumping at you all at once, instead you have some time to relax and take in the world.

Bioshock is an example of a game done right, so don't hesitate to pick it up.
