on "Austin Powers in Goldmember" and "Meet the Parents," is scheduled to direct.

Timberlake, a multiple Grammy Award winner, recently appeared in the movies "Alpha Dog" and "Black Snake Moan." He also provided the voice of a young would-be king named Artie in "Shrek the Third," the latest installment of the animated film franchise in which Myers has the lead role of Shrek, a green ogre with a heart of gold. Later this year, Timberlake also is slated to appear opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Mandy Moore and Sarah Michelle Gellar in "Southland Tales."

Myers, who achieved fame for creating rock-and-roll loving Wayne Campbell, "Coffee Talk" host Linda Richman and other characters on the sketch comedy series "Saturday Night Live," is perhaps best known for "Austin Powers," a popular film franchise in which Myers plays a swinging 1960's secret agent who is cryogenically frozen and revived in the politically correct, safe sex world of 1997.

"The Love Guru" is the first original character that Myers has created since his success with Austin Powers. In this comedy, he plays Pitka, an American child who is raised by gurus in an ashram in India. After moving back to the United States as an adult, Pitka uses his self-help techniques and spirituality to attempt a reconciliation between Toronto Maples Leafs player Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco) and his wife, who, during their estrangement, has been dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Timberlake). Roanoke has been off his game since losing his wife, so the team owner (Jessica Alba) and coach (Verne Troyer) ask Pitka to reunite the bickering couple.

Paramount Pictures Corporation is a unit of Viacom, whose other entertainment labels include MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies.
