Sweet on Geeks Dating Site Review

An Awesome Place for Geeks and Nerds

Sweet on Geeks is a somewhat unconventional dating site. It caters specifically to the geeky, brainy, nerdy, sci-fi loving, fantasy recreating population and to people who feel out of place on other dating sites. The site's goal is to be a place where geeks can share
their interests without worrying about what other people will think of them. Sweet on Geeks offers a free two week trial to new members, after which one must pay for membership.

Sweet on Geeks has one of the most in-depth profiles I have seen on any dating site anywhere. Not only does it ask for the standard information like age, height, and location, but it also asks questions such as how tolerant you are and what your family is like. Almost all of the questions are optional, but I think they give you a better view of who you're looking at than most dating sites allow for. You can also choose to add a question into your profile if you want to say more about yourself.

Profiles also allow you to have a blog, which I think is a unique touch. This allows you to keep everyone posted on as to what's up with you. It can also let you get to know a little bit about someone before you actually contact them. The background to your profile can also be changed, which allows you to personalize things even farther.

The search feature on Sweet on Geeks needs a little work. In a quick search, you can search by gender, age, and location. In the advanced search, you have the option to search by such features as ethnicity, education level, smoking habits, and political party, but it does not allow you to search for users with similar interests.

Once you have found someone you are interested in, you can either send them a wink or an email. The winks on Sweet on Geeks are phenomenal. You can send your heartthrob anything from a Holy Hand Grenade to a towel to a 12 sided die. With the image you select, you can also select a message. The window asks "Why are you sending this wink?" and you can select choices such as "to say hello," "to alert you to my existence," or "for no particular reason." The winks are sent as email messages so they are easy to reply to.
