Sex and love making has been a major focus and interest of society since human beings first walked erect. As a matter of conjecture it is probably the primary motivation people have in life. It is so basic that who we are as individuals that the psychological, physical and self-esteem issues around sex cannot be ignored. Do you know your sex statistics? A Durex survey tells us much about sex in society.

How Often: People are having sex on average 127 times per year. Out of 365 days a year this means the average person is having sex 37% of the days of any given year. That is a lot of love making. Having it and enjoying it are two different things.

One Night Stands: 45% of people are engaging have had a one night stand in the past year. They meet these people at clubs, at the gas stations or anywhere else someone sparks their attention. Having a one night stand is not as rare as people think.

Fake Orgasms: 48% of women have faked an orgasm. Just because she pretends you are the best she has ever met doesn't mean that this is the case. Faking an orgasm is relatively common so that they do not hurt the other person's feelings.

Alternative Choices: 22% of people would rather go out with their friends than have sex, while 19% of people preferred sex with a partner and 10% preferred to go shopping or play sports.

Unprotected Sex: A third of people reported that they have had sex with a person without knowing their partner's sexual history. These people were taking a risk and not inquiring about sexually transmitted diseases.

Partners: More than a quarter of people have had only one partner while 21% had sex with more than 10 people. Multiple partners throughout one's lifetime increased the chances of contracting a disease.

Pornography: 35% of people watch pornography with their partner. They sit back on the couch, get some popcorn and watch the show. They at least watching the beginning!

Foreplay: The average couple spent 20 minutes engaging in foreplay. Men had to spend more time then woman due to the slower sexual cycles of woman. Woman also preferred more foreplay.
