Tired of having to keep track of where you put your grocery list? Wish you could store it on your computer but access it anywhere? Well, in essence, you can. All you have to do is make a mobile website to store your grocery list. The first thing you need to do is create a website if you don't already have one. It doesn't have to be fancy and there are many tools and software programs available to help you do this. The main thing is that you'll need to make sure your website is not built using tables. Make sure it's built using CSS to separate the code from the presentation. This means that your website will be easier to port to a mobile phone and it will be less work for you to do so. If you only want to set up your website for grocery lists and other shopping lists, then you don't have to do anything to make it fancy. It just needs to be text.
Second, create a robots.txt file so that your website won't get indexed by search engines. Most search engine spiders will obey the robots.txt file. Set it up to disallow all robots since you're creating this website for your own personal use. If you want, you can create a subdomain for your website to separate it into different categories. For instance, if your website is www.example.com, then your subdomain could be www.groceries.example.com. Then you could point the robots.txt file specifically to that subdomain.
