Nightmare on Utility Street

How should I review one of the most unfortunate monopolies in my area when it comes to cable. I love the fact that I can get a bundled service to include internet, cable, and phone services, but by the time I got everything ordered, cancelled, installed, hooked up, disconnected, and reconnected I wanted to scream. To a few of TWC customer care representatives, I did just that - SCREAM.

Folks, I work from home. I need service. Ok, not the cable part - that is for the comfort and entertainment of my family and for me after work hours. But prior to cable time, I need phone and internet. I have teleconference scheduled and other meetings, deadlines and things to do. ....by the way - I prepaid (don't every do that again!). Let me make a long story long:

Move in timeline:

June 30 - Offer accepted on house

July 20 - House closing

Aug. 3 - Call gas, electric, and Time Warner Cable

Aug. 3 - Gas, electric, and TWC bundled services set up to be connected; received all kinds of free set-up, installation, and other freebies - VERY Happy with TWC!

Aug. 4 - Received keys to house

Aug. 5 - Gas & Electric switched and on time; TWC service set for 16^th.

Aug. 5 - 15 - cleaning and painting

Aug. 15 - Attempted move-in date - didn't happen.

Aug. 15 - Got message from TWC customer service stating my services work order was entered wrong and therefore cancelled and won't be installed until the 21^st. Not happy with TWC!

Aug. 15 - Talked with TWC CS rep about this situation to resolve problem. Had to go through the entire process for setting up services again. Did not receive all the freebies originally promised. Received a $20 credit and was able to have cable and internet install set up the 16^th. Progress (I thought), but I had to be available from 8 am to 6 pm. Still not happy with TWC, but it is a little better.

Aug. 16 - Attempted move-in date - didn't happen. TWC shows up at 5:50 pm. We have cable and internet. Yeah. Still no phone until 21^st.

Aug. 17 - Attempted move-in date - didn't happen.

Aug. 18 - Moved in, still painting and cleaning.
