While in North Fort Myers, we had a few hours to spare in the evening so we checked with the hotel reception to see if there was any entertainment locally. They had suggested a water show, just 3 miles north of our hotel. So we headed to the Shell Factory and Nature Park on route 41. There was a huge arc shaped sign, with the largest shell I have ever seen, and lots of lights further into the property.

We drove down the road and passed several buildings trying to find a parking space. It was 7.40pm and we found a space close to the Ecolab. We walked to the main building to find out where the water show was. There were ladies at the cash registers, so I tried to get the attention of one of them. When I finally did, she pointed me to the free maps of the area. I asked if she could direct us to the show, and she said that it was opposite the building, we were in.

Len and I hurried past Captain Fishbone's restaurant and between the play area. Here we found an out building, where we were able to purchase tickets. $4 for adults, but if we had been 'with the party' we would have got in for $3. No, it was just the two of us.

We passed a board stating that there were 3 shows a night. 7, 8, and 9pm. Each show would be different. When I saw the seating I wish I had a cushion and a blanket. It was wooden planks on different levels. I knew my bottom would hurt before the show was over. The name of it, 'Waltzing Waters'. In front of us we could see pipes under the water.

We had an introduction and then the music started. Lights and action. This show was on the road. Amazing water shooting up into the air, changing colors and patterns to the music. My favorite colors were the pure white, and the various shades of blue. Strange because green is my favorite color. The show was in three sections. One was a big band sound, another Frank Sinatra, and lastly classical music.

A short history of this show.
